Meet Amy.
Interior Designer in Manchester and Cheshire
I’ve always believed that a well-designed home isn’t just about how it looks, but how it feels to live in...bringing a sense of ease, comfort and enjoyment to everyday life.
Today, I help others create homes they love to live in, beautiful and functional.
My Design Philosophy
A considered balance of aesthetics and functionality sits at the heart of every design, creating spaces that feel cohesive, personal, and designed to last.
Over time, I’ve come to understand that good design isn’t just about how a space looks, but how it feels to live in, and how it supports your day-to-day life. My approach goes beyond trends or surface-level styling, focusing instead on thoughtful, well-resolved design where every detail has a purpose.
Often, it’s the smallest details that have the biggest impact on how a space comes together — and how it’s experienced, every day.

"At every stage of the design consultation, Amy provided creative and imaginative input that we would never have thought of ourselves."
"We asked Amy to undertake the complete interior design of the downstairs of our new house, and to propose a colour scheme for the upstairs.
"Once the design was finalised, Amy engaged a team of superb decorators, joiners, electricians and plumbers to bring the design to light. She also sourced a number of items for us and even took delivery of two sofas for us while we were out of the country. The result is stunning!"

Interior Designer Values
What Matters
Design for real life
A home should work as beautifully as it looks, supporting the way you live day to day.
The details
Every detail is thought through — creating spaces that feel cohesive, balanced, and built to last.
Collaboration
Working closely together ensures your home feels personal, aligned, and truly your own.
Clarity, always
Guiding decisions and bringing everything together in a way that feels straightforward and well resolved.
My Story
I was always the child carrying around a bag of paper and colouring pens, always creating, always rearranging my bedroom! And I loved shoes and accessories just as much back then, as I do now!
With a mum who worked in the new build housing industry, I was often visiting new show homes
...Wowed by their designs and wanting to play house. I never considered at this point, that it would actually become my future career!

But I did what most 18 year-olds in the 90’s did, and off I went to uni
...Keele Univeristy to be precise, where i gained an LLB in Law and Criminology, and gained a future husband along the way.
What followed was a 17 year career in criminal justice, working in Probation. Working with Sex Offenders, life-sentence prisoners and domestic abuse perpetrators was daily life, as was visiting prisons!
I’ve been helping people make changes to their lives for over two decades! I just do it in a very different way now! Still, my desire to help is as strong as ever and it’s fair to say that not much can shock or phase me! I’m an excellent problem-solver.
Life evolved as we had a family, first Lucy, then Billy. The toll that a career steeped in trauma can take on you, cannot be underestimated. I knew I wanted to change career, but was I brave enough to make the leap?!
With alot of hardwork, the support of my family and sheer determination, turns out I was!

Little Amy, who used to dream of designing beautiful homes, is now doing it for real!
I re-trained with the Interior Design Business school, and Amy Newton Interiors was born in 2019!
Who knew what could be achieved with a generous helping of self-belief, amazing cheerleaders and a vast amount of hard work!
It’s not just about great design, it’s about getting to know my clients, how you live and what you love, solving problems and making decisions (sometimes under pressure from trades).
I’m here to help you to do all of this and to create your dream home in the process! It's the most rewarding thing about my work.
"She listened to our design ideas and moulded them into a fantastic design that flowed throughout the whole house. "
"Amy was great from the start of the design process all the way through to managing the building process.
"All of the trades she brought in to realise the design were professional and did a great job. Amy was a pleasure to deal with and I would not hesitate in recommending Amy for any interior design work you are thinking of getting done."
